Where I've Been

So, where have I been these past couple of days? As you have noticed, I haven't been around 'around' lately. I was reviewing, yes, but other than that, I was hooked on SmallWorlds. I've been there almost everyday for long hours. It's so addicting. I've invited a few friends even before the public beta opened, and it was great. And now that it's in open beta, it's so much better!

So, what is SmallWorlds?

SmallWorlds allows users to create and customize their own rooms and worlds, and fill them with a wide variety of items and activities for them and their friends to enjoy together. With their online friends and acquaintances, they can share experiences like playing games, watching YouTube videos, listening to their favourite bands, browsing through photo galleries, and so much more. SmallWorlds brings together the best aspects of online games, instant messaging, social networks and digital media, and wraps them into a persistent virtual world that is never more than a hyperlink away."

SmallWorlds' headquarters is located in Auckland, New Zealand and if I'm not mistaken, they are currently in the process of establishing a Los Angeles office.

While in space, I had the pleasure to talk with most of the developers and other members of the SW's crew as they drop in every now and then. They are very nice and approachable and they really give time for the concerns of the users. SmallWorlds is still in it's beta stage and they still got tons of stuff coming up which makes it more interesting. And the best thing about it is that, it runs on your browser. You need not to install a program just to be able to play it.

Here is one screen shot I took at the Thermae Spa, a public place where you can chat and hang out with other people and play different games at the same time. They have tons of other hang out spots too.

While this one is taken at my own space. King and I made this room happen and we got tons of compliments from the other users and the moderators as well.
