So, let's see how the Year of the Pig [2007] was for me.
JANUARY
- I knew it! I started the year wrong. Me and my ex got back together that time -- for the nth time. I so made a bad choice! I thought since it was a new year, things would be different between us. But no! It only worked for a few months and he became his old self again. Nyamet!!!
- Anyway, I also had dinner with my high school kada at Haiku at the beginning of the year. It was so nice to see them again after how many months or years. Hahaha!!! Too bad Kat V wasn't there. Tinataguan talaga ako! Hahaha!!!
- First time to visit MOA. Hahaha!!! Don't ask who I was with.
- Got my International driver's license -- which will expire very soon.
- Went to Zirkoh Greenhills with a few relatives and saw Regine Velasquez and Dennis Trillo for the first time.
- Had a mini despedida at my house with my girlfriends.
- I left for the states [California] at the end of the month. The plan was to take my NCLEX there and look for a job -- see what happened. Read along.
FEBRUARY
- I prepared for my NCLEX the whole month of February. I made it to a point to finish reading and reviewing the 1000+ pages book of Saunders.
- Met a few of my relatives on my dad's side.
- Me and my ex had our first fight since I left.
- Me and my ex's first anniversary. Ugh!
- Drove in CA for the first time and I almost got into an accident. Oops.
MARCH
- I attended a 3 day NCLEX review in Garden Grove and I met a few Pinoys, not to mention Ate Mae, who was my seatmate then -- a very generous woman.
- Visited Ate Cha and her family in Cerritos -- our family friend from Laguna.
- Had my NCLEX in Anaheim then left for the Philippines with my grandparents all in the same day.
APRIL
- We went to Bulacan to see an ophthalmologist for my lolo and visited some relatives in Meycauayan. It's been a long time, and I mean looooong, since I've been there. Too bad Angel was on duty that day. I didn't have a chance to see her, again.
- Spent the Holy Week in Laguna -- as usual. And Jm left for Qatar on her birthday.
- JUAN RARELA Clan reunion at Villa Someros in Pakil, Laguna -- so many unfamiliar faces. Hahaha!!!
- Started my review for IELTS at Speak Well Quezon Avenue. Made new friends namely: Cel, Winnie, Ate Jen, Jack and Ate Novi. FYI, Cel, Winnie and I attended the same NCLEX review at MERGE, Inc. last December 2006, but we didn't know each other then. Hehehe!!!
- Received my notice letter from the CA Board of Nursing. I am now a certified US-RN!
- GARCIA Clan reunion at Villa Someros, again -- much better than the Juan Rarela reunion. I had fun here and I knew most of my relatives.
- Vince went to California for good.
MAY
- I revoked my license so I can take the NLE again that June. I was not sure if I can make it that time. There was just no time to review everything again. I was busy catching up with my friends, and my ex -- eww! Plus I was also preparing for my IETLS review. I was only a month away from the examination and I still haven't started reviewing yet.
- My lolo's 92nd birthday. His daughter's, my titas, threw a party for him and it ended up like a feast in our house in Laguna.
- After a few days, my lolo was brought to the hospital because of diarrheal episodes.
- DOLE review for the local board started. Mine's at Trinity University of Asia -- yes love your own. To tell you the truth, that review didn't help me at all. But somehow I still attended coz I really missed being in school.
- Jeff's aunt, who he calls mama, passed away due to kidney failure, and we went to attend her wake in their house in Antipolo. I also got to see an old friend Ivan, from my early college days.
- I had my IELTS exam in Makati IDP.
- My lolo was transferred to another hospital and was admitted in the ICU.
JUNE
- I went back to Laguna to visit my lolo for the first time and I stayed the night at the hospital that day. I sort of talked to him even if he was still semi-unconscious. I touched his hand and he squeezed mine, and tears start pouring down our eyes. I knew he wanted to talk but he couldn't. My lolo passed away after a few hours because of systemic failure. My titas from the states came home that week. It still breaks my heart everytime I think about that time of my life. It was the first time experience for me that someone in the family died.
- I passed my IELTS exam.
- June 2007 NLE at CCP -- which I wasn't really prepared for. And FYI, the exam was hard.
- Lost my wallet, including my driver's license, school ID and money worth around P6-7K. Bwiset na mga snatchers yan!
- Left for the states again and stayed at our new house in Connecticut -- so much for California.
- Went to my aunt's house in New York. I haven't seen my cousins in 5 years. They're all grown up.
JULY
- Napansin ko lang... most of the couples I know who were in a LDR, are now single -- well, at least during that time. Hmmm... premonition ba ito?
- Opened a bank account -- Bank of America.
- Bought a new phone -- nothing fancy. I told my dad just to get the free phone coz I'm planning to buy my own phone anyway. Pero kelan pa yun? Hahaha!!!
- We had our first visitors -- distant relatives from Florida.
- Attended our first birthday party -- Tita Emmy's son, Anthony. She was the one who sold us our house.
- Papa bought a pre-owned Honda Civic -- for me I guess. It's almost the same as my old car. But I still miss my VTI-S.
- Started processing my Visa Screen, which I had no idea how to start. Dra. helped me out and introduced me to Kiko, who was in the same status as I am.
AUGUST
- The June 2007 NLE results came out -- and I made it once again! JACKLYN ROSE RARELA BAJA, RN -- I so deserve that title! Blow-out!!!
- Did a lot of baby sitting.
SEPTEMBER
- My Tita arrived from California and stayed here for a couple of days. We went back to the beach before the summer ends.
- My ex met a new "friend" -- to cut the story short, we ended it once and for all!
OCTOBER
- I can't even remember anything that happened during this month. I guess I was a total bum that time of the year.
- Healing period???
- Registered for my local license at PRC with the help of Dra.
NOVEMBER
- Found a new love -- reading. I needed all the distractions I can find.
- Officially started a new blogsite using Blogger. My Yahoo! 360 was just full of bad memories so I had to start fresh. It's closing anyways so it was time to find a new site.
- Had my first Thanksgiving over at Meyerson's Residence in New York.
- I was supposed to be back in the Philippines at the end of the month, but it was cancelled.
DECEMBER
- My ex wanted us to get back together. Hello! May girlfriend ka na kaya! Asshole talaga! And even if he didn't have anyone, I already promised myself that I will not get back together with him. So go to hell!
- Moving on, I found out a few things about my friends back home. One of them is pregnant and will get married around March. Another friend is on a new relationship -- good for you dear!
- Filed my papers to the Immigration regarding the Child Status Protection Act.
- Saw Princess Punzalan in person at NCC. Yeah, she's my sister's classmate in Anatomy. She lives in Greenwich, CT -- the richest town in CT, I think. And I heard she's already married to an American. Uyy, chismis!
- Experienced my first snow.
- Made new friends via Yahoo! Messenger. Some of my college batchmates and I had a conference over YM. Most of them I know only by name and face and it was really fun talking to them. About 80% of us are already here in North America, mostly here in the east coast.

- Finished watching One Tree Hill seasons 1 to 4 -- para makarelate sa season 5.
- First Christmas away from home. Spent it at Fairfield with a few Pinoys from CT.
- Had our first house party with our Pinoy friends from the tri-state area.
Well, that's about it. A lot of changes happened but I believe it's for the best. Hopefully the coming year will be much better for me.
